Chatterline is a telephone service for all children of elementary ages. It is
geared for children who are home alone after school and need someone to
talk to, a listening ear, or assistance with homework assignments.
Chatterline is also for emergencies or for children who just want a safe
place to check in. It provides reassurance, support services, and if
necessary, emergency help to young children who need a friend. Except
in emergencies, these calls are anonymous and confidential. Manned by
teens and adults who want to help, Chatterline is available from 3 to 6 PM
Monday through Friday. (12-6 during the summer)
